I am an automotive materials development engineer with over 30 years of OEM experience in corrosion protection, coatings, sealers, and materials engineering.
My work has taken me through many stages of vehicle development, from selecting materials and developing coating systems to supporting manufacturing plants, evaluating competitor vehicles, and investigating corrosion issues in the field. I have always enjoyed understanding why corrosion occurs and what can be changed to prevent it.
Over the years, I have conducted field corrosion investigations across the United States and Canada, comparing what vehicles experienced in service with what engineers expected during development. That perspective taught me that good corrosion performance depends on more than coatings alone. Design details, manufacturing processes, environmental exposure, and validation all play an important role.
Today, I work with automotive OEMs and suppliers to identify corrosion risks, review corrosion protection strategies, investigate field issues, and provide practical engineering guidance to help improve corrosion durability.

My Approach
Every vehicle program is different, so I don't believe in one solution for every situation. I start by understanding the design, the materials, how the vehicle will be built, how it will be tested, and where it will be used. Corrosion problems usually come from several factors working together, not one single cause.
My role is to help engineering teams find those risks early, understand the causes of corrosion issues, and recommend practical improvements before vehicles reach customers. The recommendations are based on what I have seen during more than 30 years working in automotive OEM engineering.
